The CPPSS00061 Cash-in-Transit Skill Set (QLD) builds the skills and knowledge to securely collect, transfer, and deliver cash and valuables in both secured and public environments.
Delivered by NSTA Hillcrest™ (under NSTA™ RTO 32292), this nationally recognised training prepares licensed security officers for CIT roles across banking, retail, corporate, and armoured operations.
Training is available across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.

This Skill Set covers the competencies required to perform cash-in-transit duties safely and efficiently, including pre-deployment checks, route planning, threat awareness, and secure handover protocols.

🎯 Target Group

Suitable for licensed security officers responsible for collecting, transferring, and delivering cash and valuables, including armoured services, retail cash logistics, and corporate asset movements.

🧾 Statement of Attainment

On successful completion, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment for the units above. These competencies from the CPP Property Services Training Package meet industry requirements for cash-in-transit guarding (note: does not cover firearms licensing).

Completed CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations (prerequisite).
Hold or be eligible for a QLD Security Licence; 18+ with 100 points of ID.
Basic English literacy and numeracy for reports and procedures.
Enclosed footwear and suitable attire for practical activities.
Domestic students only (not open to Student Visa subclass 500).

💼 Licensing / Regulatory Information

This Skill Set aligns with industry/regulatory expectations for cash-in-transit guarding but does not meet regulatory requirements for firearms possession/use. Industry recommends refresher training every ~2 years to maintain currency.

🔒 Cash-in-Transit Licensing Process in Queensland

To work as a Cash-in-Transit Security Officer in Queensland, you must hold a valid QLD Security Licence (Cash-in-Transit function) issued by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

After completing CPPSS00061, you’ll typically need to:

Meet OFT eligibility (age, ID, criminal history).
Complete Security Providers Form 1-1 – Application for a Class 1 Security Provider Licence.
Attach proof of CPP20218 Certificate II and CPPSS00061 Cash-in-Transit Skill Set.
Provide certified ID (birth certificate, passport, or driver licence).
Pay application, criminal history, and fingerprinting fees.
Attend fingerprinting with Queensland Police after receiving OFT instructions.

If your role requires carrying a firearm, you must also apply separately to the Queensland Police Service for the appropriate Weapons Licence.
